The genesis of AIFA can be traced back to the recognition of the need for a dedicated fund to boost major infrastructure development in Assam. The Government of Assam, through a notification in the Finance (Budget) Department, constituted AIFA on October 6, 2009, with its registered office at CM Block, Janata Bhawan, Dispur.
